2021 NZ Pipe Band Championsihips

We wish to advise all member bands that planning for the 2021 New Zealand Championships is progressing well.

As you would expect the Contest Committee and Management Board are together monitoring the impact of Covid-19 and Government policies to ensure we are well placed to react to changing circumstances. At this point, based on the best information available to us, we fully expect the Contest to proceed as planned.

These are very disruptive times and we are aware bands will be impacted in different ways. Some may be reviewing whether they wish to commit to attending the 2021 Championships. No doubt, like us, you are keeping an eye on developments and are keeping options open.

To help us all plan as well as possible and maintain timely direct communication, could all bands planning to be at the 2021 Championships please email the Contest Committee at with your band name and grade, your contact details, the number of players likely to attend and details of any accommodation reservation you have made. This will help the Committee ensure they are doing all they can to help keep you up to date with any relevant developments. We are not asking for a cast iron commitment or entry fee, merely an indication of intent. This will help the planning process for the Contest Committee and for you.

With the backing of both Napier City and Hastings District Councils the Contest Committee has established an informative website which includes links to accommodation information. This website will be updated as plans develop.
