The Jenny Mair Highland Square Day is set again to showcase a raft of talent from across the country and overseas. Saturday 14 December 2019 marks the 40th Square Day!
Upwards of 20 highland pipe bands and scores of contestant solo bagpipers and solo drummers will converge on The Square, with the celebration of this milestone being an extra special element this year.
Throughout its history, Square Day has enjoyed a steadfast reputation as an extremely well-run and enjoyable event. A magnificent day out for all ages, there is no admission fee. You are warmly invited to wander through our lovely Square to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the polished performances. There will also be a number of stalls to peruse at your leisure.
The solo piping and drumming events commence at 8.30am, then the first of the competing bands step out at 11.00am to perform in front of our internationally-recognised judges. 5.45pm brings the spectacular massed bands performances prior to the prizegiving.

Come along and listen to some of New Zealand’s top solo pipers in their build up for the Waipu Highland Games.

The event is a family friendly day including Pipe Bands, solo piping & drumming, Highland and National Dancing, traditional field events, children's events, Clan & market stalls and an evening ceilidh.

The 27th Annual Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo will be held on Saturday 8th February 2020 at the Paeroa Domain. What started out as a small Pipe Bands Competition has grown over the years, and today is a fully-fledged Highland Games, one of only seven such Scottish gatherings in New Zealand, and the only one in New Zealand to hold an Evening Tattoo.
