RNZPBA regrading decisions

Following the Rotorua Contest we advised you that the Grading Advisory Panel had met immediately after the Contest and made some regrading recommendations. In the same communique we summarised for you the process and time line within which regraded bands could appeal against their regrading and any band could proactively request to be regraded. This year turned out to be a particularly busy year for the Grading Committee which considered:

• One appeal against a post-contest regrading recommendation; and
• Four proactive requests for regrading

This robust and thorough process has now run its course and we advise the following Grade changes:

• ILT City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band from Grade 1 to Grade 2
• Hamilton Caledonian Pipe Band from Grade 3 to Grade 2
• City of Nelson Highland Pipe Band from Grade 3 to Grade 4A
• Wellington Red Hackle Pipe Band # 2 from Grade 4B to Grade 4A
• Papakura Pipe Band from Grade 4B to Grade 4A

We again remind bands that, in terms of our rules, the Grading Committee is able to consider regrading requests up to four months prior to the next Annual Contest.
