National Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand Membership Application

Applications are now invited from young Pipe Band members for the 2021/2022 National Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand.

You must be over the age of 14 and and no older than 23 when applications close on the 31st May 2021, and you must be a member of a New Zealand registered pipe band.

The Youth Band is being led by a team of New Zealand's best available tutors. Their focus is on high performance playing. The band will assemble several times in 2021/2022.  As part of the presentation stage the band will perform in formal concerts, appear at festivals, special events and in 2022 it is planned to go on an International tour.

There is an annual membership fee, invoiced in July, of $450 to cover tuition, accommodation and meals. The fee can be paid in a lump sum or in equal monthly payments up to the 20 December 2021.

Members are required to arrange their own travel to and from the rehearsal camps and performances. All camps and performances will be timed around school holidays to ensure we do not interrupt your education.

Auditions will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Applications close on the 31 May. Outcomes will be advised by 18 June.

As part of the application process we encourage you to outline a CV of your playing and learning background to assist the selectors during auditions.
