Angus MacKinnon (PDF - all sections)

RNZPBA Summer School is for pipers and drummers of all levels of ability and experience. It’s not kids’ stuff. Programmes and tuition will be designed to match your personal and band playing skills. Those at the earlier stages of playing will be helped to improve and progress. More advanced pipers and drummers, including band leaders, will be catered for. National Summer School will go ahead if 100 pre-enrolments are received by 1 June 2007.

TOP CLASS TUTORS

RNZPBA Summer School will again be led by top class overseas and New Zealand tutors. Jack Lee and Reid Maxwell from the Simon Fraser University in Canada are coming back again. This year there will be an international tutor for the Bass section as well.

Pipers should be capable of playing Green Hills of Tyrol (or similar), on the pipes, and drummers on the drum!

PROGRAMME

The programme will focus on individual and group tuition.  At the start of RNZPBA Summer School your playing level will  be assessed by tutors to help match teaching and learning to your experience.  The tutors will also take account of any special goals you would like to achieve during the school. This means it is very important that you fill in the enrolment form with accurate information. This information is used to do the initial groupings.

The person applying to attend the Summer School MUST BE the person who fills in the enrolment form.
